If you have taken one thing away from our blogs, social posts or one-on-one meetings, we hope it's that you understand the power of social media amongst consumers.
As two 20-something year old Sydney based females, we could be considered the ‘prime’ target market for most brands with a social presence.
We are food-loving, lifestyle-oriented, gym goers, who spend significant amounts of time researching our options via social efore making a booking or purchasing decision. We also love a good brand story and are loyal to local businesses who can not only show that, but who have incredible customer service on top.
Here is our locals tour of Sydney through Social.
Our favourite cafe: Shuk, Bondi
In a city full of single origin serving, vegan friendly, outdoor cafes, this would have to be the hardest category to choose a favourite. Despite us both living north of the bridge [curse, we hear you say - we love it] our favourite is actually still in Bondi.
Shuk Bondi is our all time Sydney favourite for a long Sunday brunch with friends. It is the perfect amalgamation of a great vibe, whilst not being beachfront amongst 50,000 tourists.
Our criteria (and we are the toughest critics we know): must be outdoors in morning sun, must take bookings, must serve great coffee, must have good quality GF bread and must have great customer service.
Shuk really does tick every box and their hospitality is unbeatable. And when we thought it couldn't get any better, we realised they serve sweet potato chips that are up there with the best AND are open for dinner on selected nights!
Our other favourites include: Barefoot Manly, Open Circus Mosman, Rough and Bare St Leonards and Tuckshop Glenhaven.
Our favourite restaurant: Hugos, Manly
When we think of the best view, the best vibes, the best seafood, the best pizza (and dessert pizza), the best spritz, (oh and Espresso Martini), we really can't top Hugos Manly.
Most would be familiar with the now closed Hugos Kings Cross, but this is the beachy version, located in Sydney’s Northern beaches.
Perched on Manly Wharf, Hugos is the perfect location for an intimate date night (teamed with a sunset) or great for a long, long lunch turned dinner.
Did we mention their polenta chips with garlic aioli? OK well they have polenta chips with garlic aioli! Say no more.
Other close favourites include: Chiswick Woolahra, North Bondi Fish and Archie Rose Distillery Rosebery.
Our favourite workout: KX Pilates, Mosman
For anyone who knows us, you know we are those crazy people who wake up in the 4am’s. We are finished training and stretching by 6.30am and at our desks by 7.30am.
We train 5-6 days per week and try to mix it our training regularly. Our typical week consists of 3 strength based days, 2 HIIT days and usually 1 session of pilates.
KX Mosman is our favourite. It’s revolutionary, fast paced, body-toning all in one. It fuses together elements of traditional reformer pilates with cardio and endurance training for a higher intensity workout.
Oh and we walk EVERY day. Regardless of our busy schedules, we do 40-50 minute walk (usually at lunchtime) as we find it's the only way to reset for the afternoon.
Our other favourite places to train include: Fitness Culture Bondi, APEX Strength Society and Skylab Surry Hills.
Our favourite homewares: Deer Willow, Dural
If we aren’t spending our weekends doing something fitness related, or soaking up Sydney’s cafe culture, you’ll find us renovating or re-decorating our homes. We absolutely love interior design and the place that easily sits on top of our list is Deer Willow, Dural.
This beautiful space features a combination of Scandinavian inspired timber furniture, soft furnishings and one-off pieces that would be a talking point in any home. We would buy everything in the entire store if we could!
Other favourites include Camargue and Burke Home, located in the heart of Mosman village.
Our favourite spot for beauty: The Parlour Room, Clovelly
We will admit, we absolutely love being pampered every once in a while. Whether it’s nails (we’re a big fan of SNS because it lasts for weeks and weeks!), to relaxing facials or a gorgeous bronzing spray tan.
We wouldn’t go anywhere else but the amazing Parlour Room in Clovelly. Owned by entrepreneur and good friend Nat, the Parlour Room embodies a super relaxed,
Having just undergone a huge makeover, the salon is unlike any beauty spa in Sydney. It's furnishings and style will have you feeling like you're in an exclusive resort (bliss!). It’s the type of place where you walk in the door and the girls know you by name. The attention to detail they offer in each of their services is the reason their clients have been with them for years (us included!).
Our other favourite picks for all things beauty and fashion include: Normarny Salon Woollahra (hair), Sarah & Sebastian Paddington (jewellery), Splice Boutique Freshwater and For Artists Only Rose Bay (fashion).
Our favourite florist: Lilac & Willow, Rose Bay
Flowers are probably one of our biggest weaknesses. No matter the occasion (or no occasion!), you’ll find a big bunch of flowers, indoor plants, or beautiful blooming orchids scattered throughout our kitchen, living room, bedroom and bathroom.
So when we think of florists, we can’t go past Lilac and Willow, a beautiful boutique florist in Rose Bay. The beautiful personalised service the girls give you every time you walk through the door is unforgettable. Whether you’re after a colourful bunch for a special someone or a feature plant or succulent to bring nature into any space in your home, Lilac and Willow will blow you away every time. We have no doubt you’ll have people asking you “Where did you get those!?” with every single purchase.
Our other top picks include: Whitehouse Flowers, Manly and Buds and Bowers, Surry Hills.
